PRICE REDUCED!! This is a very rare 1986 Rolls-Royce Camargue that
has accumulated 37,000 miles from new and is in beautiful original
condition throughout. The Camargue coupes are one of the rarest
models ever produced and this is the last year of production. The
Camargue's Pininfarina design had been polarizing for years and
now, more recently, has collectors excited about its unique lines
and fantastic driving impression. This coupe can be shown at most
major concours events or used as a modern classic driver. The
Rolls-Royce Camargue was introduced in March 1975 and was produced
until 1986. The coachwork of the Camargue was hand built in London
at the Mulliner division and was the first Post-War model not
designed inside the factory; the design is the work of Paolo
Martin, the famous Italian designer who was with Pininfarina at the
time. The Camargue was the most expensive and exclusive motorcar in
the world with only about 530 produced over an 11-year period. Each
car required 450 sq ft of leather hides for the interior and also
features aero inspired instruments and gauges. This Camargue was
one of the last ever made and benefitted from the advanced fuel
injection system that was reserved for US delivery models only.
Rallye Motors, Inc. of Glen Cove, NY special ordered this Camargue
for Mr. Moritemer Grossman of Manhasset, NY. The Camargue was
hand-built in May of 1986 and on July 25th, 1986, was aboard the
"Falmouth Bay" to the port in New Jersey. Mr. Grossman received the
Camargue on the 21st of August, 1986 and registered it under his
company name of Steven 22 Company. Mr. Grossman was 64 years old at
that time and enjoyed the motorcar until 1991. By 1994, the
Camargue was acquired by Gary and Louise Witham of Camden, Maine.
The Witham's were longtime RROC members and participated in various
events and showed the Camargue regularly. The livery is in its
original Acrylic Georgian Silver (Paint Code ICI 9510437) with its
Black Everflex top (Trim Code 5218). The Silver is complemented by
Brick Red dual hand applied pinstripes that have been applied by us
per the factory build sheets. The paint is in overall beautiful
condition with only a few small scratches that we show in the photo
gallery. The shine and luster are beautiful. The factory alloy
wheels were reserved for the later cars and look terrific. New BF
Goodrich T/A Radials have been installed by us as well. Overall,
the exterior of the Camargue is in very nice condition and reflect
the 37,000 miles of use. The interior features beautiful Black
Nuella Leather (Trim Code 5000) with Brick Red Piping (Trim Code
5004). The leather is very soft and supple and has no cracks or
tears. The leather shows little wear. The Black Wilton Wool
carpeting is bound in Brick Red Leather and the Black Sheepskin
mouton overlays are in the front and rear. The burl walnut veneer
throughout is absolutely stunning and in excellent condition. The
original Blaupunkt Washington AM/FM Cassette stereo is still
installed. The Dual Zone air conditioning has been fully serviced
and works very well. Overall, the interior is in gorgeous original
condition showing little wear. The engine compartment is nearly as
new. The venerable 6.75-liter aluminum alloy V8 engine was the
longest serving V8 in automotive history. The transmission is the
three speed GM400 automatic which has proven to be very robust. The
undercarriage looks nearly as new as well with its 120-inch
wheelbase. This Camargue has benefitted from a complete a major
service and new radials in preparation for sale. The Camargue has
received steady and limited use over the years. Much of the service
work has been performed by Rallye Motors, Foreign Motors West and
Albers, all Rolls-Royce dealerships. We have just completed a full
major service including new radial tires. The mileage history has
been: 1987: 2,: 15,: 16,: 18,:
28,: 37,691 This Camargue is complete with its original
Owner's Handbook and manuals, a complete tools kit, jack and spare.
