This 1968 Shelby GT500KR convertible is #04415, shipped to the
Non-Shelby Franchised Dealer Willett Ford, Inc., in Rockford, IL.
This is one of 518 GT500KR convertibles produced in 1968. It is
finished in a Special Yellow exterior, making it one of only 43. In
1995 this Shelby underwent a restoration using NOS (New Old Stock)
parts. The restoration project includes a fiberglass hood, trunk
lid and lower-quarter side scoops. Under the hood is a 428ci Cobra
Jet Engine with functional Ram Air, cast-iron exhaust manifolds and
an automatic transmission. Power steering and power brakes with
front discs provide a smooth and controlled driving experience,
while the 10-spoke Shelby wheels wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas tires
ensure a gripping connection with the road. The black vinyl
interior features bucket seats and a console, a tilt steering
column and a padded roll bar. The exterior is equipped with Lucas
fog lamps and a power convertible top. This car is listed in the
Shelby Registry. From the Jay Barkheimer Collection. ** PREVIEW
