Description

This car has had a partial restoration that is now 5 years old. To start with the body was sandblasted but NOT removed from the frame. Once the car was sandblasted, The floor panels were replaced and some small rust holes fixed in the trunk area. There was some rust on the rockers and lower front fenders that had also been repaired. There was some filler work done before the car was sprayed in primer. The car is a two tone blue color. The larger portion of the blue body color carries to the inside of the car on the dash and garnish moldings and the dash insert for the gauges was painted to match the roof. The floor was coated in a rubber truck liner in hopes of keeping rust away in the future. The fender wells, core support and splash apron were painted a satin black. ALL of the chrome was replaced. Not redone. Replaced. The stainless trim on the side was straightened and slightly polished. ALL of the wiring in the car was replaced with the exception of the wiring ON the wiper motor (Which right now is not working) this includes the tail light sockets, blinker sockets, headlight plugs, batt cables and blinker switch. The ignition switch is a new proper 57 piece with new keys and headlight switch is also a correct 57 piece with a new bezel. Every bulb in the car was replaced. There is an alternator in place of the generator to assist in the newer wiring. The factory radio is not installed in the dash but it is IN the car and will be sent along with it for the buyer do with at their discretion. There is a working radio installed BELOW the dash to avoid cutting it up, with new speakers and wires. The motor is a rebuilt 265 with fewer than 700 miles on it. The trans is a 3 speed column shift with a rebuilt column and shift linkages and a new clutch with a new throw out bearing. The carburetor is a new carb with an electric choke. The factory oil bath air cleaner is still in use. New exhaust including flanges all the way out the back. Designed as it was factory and muffled to be quiet as it was in 57. The ignition system was upgraded with a points eliminator kit and a higher output coil. The cap, rotor, plugs and wires are new. The battery is new. In place of the factory air system is a vintage air system. Works well. Needs a charge soon. The switch for the operation of the system is backwards as in, hot is cold, cold is hot as if it was mislabeled. The radiator was cleaned out and tested.
