1956 Olds LA Ambassador. Raw polished brass in excellent technical condition.
The Ambassador was considered an entry level horn but the Olds LA plant did not cut corners on the quality of these horns. They were made to the same exacting standards as the most expensive models.
This horn has been stripped of the old lacquer and the raw brass was polished. It has some dings in the bell. The leadpipe and the 3rd valve casing show signs of wear. I tried to get the imperfections to show in the photos.
But this horn is in very good technical condition. You can tell it was not played a lot over the years. The valves show little wear and have excellent action. It has exceptional compression, especially considering its age. All three tuning slides pop crisply when pulled. It is a fine player and, even with the imperfections it presents well.
Valves have matching serial numbers...
Comes with a new case and an Olds 3 mouthpiece. If you want the original case, I can swap it in place of the new one. Your choice.
