DESCRIPTION:
1956 Ford Thunderbird I have recently inherited this vehicle and have no need or desire to keep it. My great uncle had the intentions of fully restoring it but that never happened. The car was purchased in 2002 locally for $29k and did not have the wheels, tires or continental kit. That was the beginning of the restoration but that is as far as he got. The car has a 5.1 (312 c.i.) Engine and Automatic Transmission (Not sure what kind of transmission it is). Also, the interior needs some work, but has Power Windows and a Power Seat, the carpet is old and needs replaced, but the seat is in great condition. The door panels are old and show their age. The dash had some special adaptations like the high-beam switch relocated because the my great uncle was an amputee and needed those special accommodations for him. The weatherstripping is baked due to the dry heat here, it was in a shade but after 9 years of sitting the heat dried the weatherstripping and tires out. The tires and wheels were replaced 10 years ago but like I previously stated, the heat ended up drying the tires. The tires look brand new and have maybe about 500 miles on them but they are completely shot. I have driven it around the block a couple times this past week just to get the fluids and battery going but I wouldnt trust it to go much further with the tires being as dry as they are. The antenna in the trunk and the windshield are just for looks (they look bad) and are only held on by double sided tape. The spot lights are an addition that are not functional nor look good, but were added by my 79 year old great uncle. I am looking to sell this car without having to put money into a restoration, paint, tires, etc. I have no use for it and dont fit in it comfortably. The car is a project, I dont know much about these cars but I am pricing it according to what I believe it is worth in its current condition. This car is good for someone who wants a driver while restoring it. The car is definitely a 20 footer but once up close you can see the flaws. The paint is chipping and the interior door panels and carpet need work. The engine works great and so does the transmission. The car just needs a paint job and some engine detail work and minor interior work to be a show quality car. The car has LOTS of potential. Make me an offer and the worst I can say is no. I welcome anyone to come take a look at it prior to purchasing. The car is now clean without any dust in the interior, these pictures are to show the condition it was after sitting for 9 years. The car started right up, we drained the gas and did an oil change just last weekend. If you would like some more detailed pictures, please let me know via phone or email and will post any pictures that are requested. If you have any questions please feel free to call
