As a Grants Officer, you will assess a high volume of grant applications from charities, not-for-profit and community organisations. You will be responsible for ensuring deadlines are met, applications are assessed correctly against the donor's criteria and for monitoring successful awards. You will provide information and coordination support to the grant-making decision panels.

Key Responsibilities
Assess funding applications received to wide-ranging grant portfolios and make recommendations to the grants panel.Undertake due diligence on all applications received.Effectively manage the monitoring of all successful awards and undertake monitoring visits to a proportion of grant recipients.To prioritise and manage workload in line with grant-making cycles.To ensure consistent, high-quality levels of assessments in preparation for grant-making panels.Produce high-quality documentation for all panel meetings including providing the panel with data to support decision-making.Record essential information accurately and in a timely manner on their database.Identify strong stories of change as a result of funding for the Foundation to share with donors, supporters and the wider community.Work with the Marketing and Communications Team to promote the grants awarded and ensure positive press coverage.Liaise with the Finance Department to ensure prompt payment of awards.To work with the wider team on the general running of the office. Essential Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
Experience in assessing application processing against specific criteria. Experience in completing due diligence on an organisation and its policies.Understanding of, and the differences between, charities, social enterprises and other not-for-profit organisations' set-up, governance and business models.Experience in managing multiple caseloads to a high standard and setting deadlines.Strong verbal and written communication skillsUnderstand and interpret budgets and accounts.Ability to engage with grant applicants, fundholders and donors.Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and agencies.Intermediate IT skills, including CRM systems, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Strong self-motivation and self-starter.Effective organisational skills, including prioritising, so that deadlines and tasks are delivered on time, accurately and with attention to detail.Understanding the principles and practice of equal opportunities, programme delivery and helping people most in need. Please note that you must be a car driver and have access to a car.
Salary, Benefits & HoursGBP25,000 - GBP27,000 per annum, depending on experience. Pro-rata for part-time hours.Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.Hybrid working - Minimum 2 days office based in Coventry so living nearby is essential.
