Dottie is an absolute treasure discovered at the county shelter.
She is a Basenji mix, and the most positive puppy you will ever meet.
She is 20 pounds, with a birthdate of November 9, 2017.
Dottie was born with a right front paw that had not completely formed, and the decision was made to amputate her leg so that she would learn not to depend on that limb.
In her video you will see her before surgery, one day post-surgery, and two weeks later.
Dottie adapted immediately, and she was an excellent patient; she never stopped playing during her recovery.
She is great with other dogs, and good with cats. The adoption fee for Dottie is $350, which is higher than it would be under our normal fee schedule. That is because Dottie is one of our Guardian Angel dogs.
Guardian Angel dogs and cats are highly desirable adoptees, and their increased fees are used expressly to help defray costs for our rescues with special needs such as advanced medical treatment or training for behavioral issues, or for those who are with us for unusually long periods of time.
In this way the Guardian Angels directly help our other rescues!
All adoption fees include spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet.
Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix.
Out-of-state adoptions to surrounding states are possible; however, an in-person introduction with us and our dogs is mandatory. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm, and a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment.
