Are you someone who is passionate about the ongoing maintenance and improvement of manufacturing environments through mechanical maintenance, fitting, and improvement activities?

At our flagship British Gypsum manufacturing facility in East Leake, we are seeking a Mechanical Craftsperson. This a great opportunity to join a highly skilled team dedicated to the ongoing improvement and maintenance of our gypsum plaster production plant.

As a Mechanical Craftsperson / Plant Fitter, you will join a highly skilled team tasked with delivering focused preventative scheduled maintenance, reactive repairs, some installation work and supporting the ongoing improvement of plant equipment. You will be tasked with identifying solutions through fault finding, the application of root cause analysis, the application of lean tools, and ensuring that safety protocols are always followed.

Our products shape modern interiors for the commercial, residential, and off-site sectors of the construction industry.

This is a full-time position based at our East Leake facility, predominantly Monday to Friday days with flexibility required to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

What we're looking for:

The applicant will ideally have served a recognised mechanical apprenticeship or demonstrate a minimum of NVQ3 Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering with relevant industrial experience.Experience in Professional Maintenance, with skills in mechanical fitting on industrial machinery.Computer literacyA flexible and willing approach to working hours and deployment is essentialAttention to detail and persistence will be evident in the successful candidateExperience in using permit to work systems and other safe systems of work such as conducting risk assessments and method statements.Experience in the application of root cause analysis and some lean tools.Experience in using a CMMS system and contributing to writing maintenance planning.
